And Go out with a BANG

This post is dedicated to my Nana as she fought through breast cancer and overcame it. This is also dedicated to all those women and their families as they struggle to hold together and may they get through this as painlessly phyically and emotionally as possible.

During and After Cancer

Cancer is devastating in every kind of way.  It destroys the body. It stresses relationships.  It offers a bleak future.  Self esteem and worth can plummet.  Yet in the midst of this horror, women can still salvage their confidence and sense of self through fashion.

It is important for women to seek ways to feel beautiful while facing cancer such as mesothelioma or breast cancer.  One way is to dress in a way that makes them feel good about themselves.  If dressing 'cute' has never come naturally, getting an expert's advice can make all the difference. Stylists and image consultants may sound like a luxury only for celebrities, but spending an hour with one of them can set women on the right path to dressing for their body shape.

Purses are a key piece of fashion that doesn’t have to fit a specific body type.  A well-made, classic purse can upgrade any outfit.  Jeans and a t-shirt can instantly look like high fashion when paired with a designer bag.  These bags can be expensive, but they last a long time and there are ways to get them cheaper. Consignment stores, Craig's list and E-bay offer used designer purses (make sure they come with cards to verify authenticity though).  There are also websites that rent out purses.  This is a great option for higher end bags and for those who like to change our their look regularly.  A trendy purse can add fun to an ensemble.  When choosing a design that may not be in style after a year or so, don't spend much money on it.

If facing weight gain from chemotherapy treatment, dry wearing darker colors to look slimmer, but then choose a colored purse to balance out the color palette.  Many mood experts say that wearing certain colors like orange, yellow and red and elevate a mood.  Try to incorporate one mood-lifting color into the outfit each day.

If women are homebound, off work, fighting cancer, getting out of bed can be a major accomplishment.  After that, a major goal may be getting dressed for the day.  It can seem pointless to put on anything other than pajamas or sweatpants.  However, making an effort to put on a nice dress, a favorite piece of jewelry, or slinging an elegant purse over the shoulder can improve the mood.  The next step is getting out the door to show off the look by staying positive is dressing to feel good about yourself.  Get into colors, carry a cute purse, and know you're beautiful!

Ends up my camera doesn`t work. When it takes pictures, they come out all lined and pink. So until I find a new camera( thinking of buying off my sister`s), the blogs on hold :(. Oh and my side lamp went out the day after my room light burnt out as well.
But enough about my bad luck, let`s talk about this outfit! With the purple and grey stripes, and ripped capris, it just screams that I`m done with winter and ready to move on (Though the weather thinks differently)! I added my flower power brown necklace, and tribal flats to add a good casual, chic feeling. My hair is in a pony `cause I was too lazy to think of anything creative :)

Thank you for stopping by, comment with you`re best bag, and I`ll see you soon :)

Spring Fling

Happy first day of Spring! It really feels like it here. This red, floral print, dress I thought would be nice to wear, but ends up I couldn't fully zip it up in the back very well. I wanted to wear my jean, strapless dress and when I couldn't find it in my closet, I started freaking out. Ends up I put it away for spring in a drawer and forgot about it. That was a close one. I did that already to a pair of sandals and flipped on my mother for throwing them out only later to find them. Just a warning, don't do it. You don't know what's coming.
The strap kept breaking through-out the day  with the metal hoops unattaching, so I'm going to simply give it away. And while wearing this cardigan, I realized how I don't have an amazing pastel coloured one to wear this spring! TOP OF MY LIST PEOPLES!! I threw in the rock necklace for an added charm and the red shoes gave a relaxed touch.
Hope the weather is splended where you are!

Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows

As my mother said, when she was my age, on march break she was finishing the season of down hill skiing and here I am in a shirt and skirt completely fine. Speaking of which, I stole this skirt from her too. I didn't notice this before, but I really like mixing patterns! A striped, sequined, pink quarter sleeve over a navy floral, pleated skirt. Of course I added a long necklace, and threw in some heels

Hope your second day back from march break was good! I was simply tired.

How to use Accessories to Burst IDK What to Wear Monday

Stolen from the guys and used to hold up your pants, these handy pieces of leather work splendidly around the waist also! Every fashionista should own at least a basic belt, a coloured belt, and a skinny belt. Seriously.

A simple outfit with an added touch of the belt really finishes it off.

Statement Necklace.
It may seem like a simple piece of jewelry, but try basing your outfit around how to really accent it and you have yourself a fantastic outfit. Bib Necklaces and long necklaces work best to steal the show.

Perfect example on how a necklace and make even a black tank pop

Although here its record breaking temperatures, you will still see me sometime soon with my favorite purple. plaid scarf. Its nice and big that it acts as a major component in an outfit and not simply an accessory.

white shirt+jeans+textured coloured scarf?? SCORE!!

Heels/Look at Me Shoes
Usually used to 'finish' or 'complete' the outfit, switch it up and give your tooties the spotlight! Even adding heels to a sweat top and jeans make it classy. Tried and Tested.

sweater+skirt+bright heels.
I got my next shopping outfit picked. And will be using..tomorrow :)

Hope this helps! I may need to look at this again next time I complain I don't have anything to wear..

Sleep All Day, Party All Night

Everyone loves garage sales right? Ever heard of your local Facebook garage sale? Look it up or start one up! They are soo much fun and of course cheap. Reason of mentioning, my sister recently jumped on and found this lady who was selling a whack of clothes so of course we went over to her house and spent alot of money. The dress I'm wearing and the shawl were both under $10.00 and are absolutely amazing. Sorry for the pictures being so dark, I stupidly waited til the last second to do them and the next thing you know its 9:30pm..

Want to be featured? I would love to feature you and your blog here on Thursdays! I am working on getting a very special lady who was diagnosed with cancer and survived to have a featured post here next Thursday. If you have a blog that has an extra something lets see it!

Splish Splash

Abercombie and Fitch Sweater
Abercombie and Fitch T
Urban Planet Braided Belt
Target Rainboots
Walmart Pearl sorted necklace

I felt like a child all over again when I jumped. Apparently, as the story goes, when I was around 3-4 yrs old, I got on my expensive, red party dress and polka dot rain-boots, grabbed my blue umbrella, and jumped in the rain puddles. I can't imagine my mother being too happy.. I've been so cold lately so I wanted to wear my sweater and what better way then to belt it?? The trend started last fall, but why not carry it into the spring?..Oh, and my floral pink rain-boots help ;)

HEY don't forget! If you are a HUGE Taylor Launter fan (or just thinks he's really really hot),
